Management Team

Jim Hartman joined Merz in June of 2012 and currently serves as Vice President of Aesthetics. Jim leads the aesthetics strategy development and commercial implementation for meeting franchise objectives in the U.S. His role acts as a leading conduit between the commercial needs for success in the U.S. and our Global Project Teams for assigned aesthetics projects. Jim served as Vice President of Dermatology from June 2012 to January 2013. He has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with more than 13 of those years focused on the development and marketing of specialty pharmaceutical products. Prior to joining Merz, Jim served as Vice President, Global Marketing & Business Development for Obagi Medical Products, Inc. from 2009-2012. From 2004-2009, he served as Senior Vice President, US Commercial Operations and Vice President, US Marketing for Stiefel Laboratories. His career also includes leadership roles in general management, marketing and sales within Allergan, InVentiv Health, SmithKline Beecham and Schering Plough. Jim completed his undergraduate studies at University of California, Irvine earning a Bachelors of Arts degree in Social Science.

Adam Gridley has been our Senior Vice President, Product Development since July 2010. From October 2008 to July 2010, he was our Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, from July 2005 to October 2008, he was our Vice President of Corporate Development, from April 2004 to July 2005, he was our Director of Corporate Development and from September 2003 to April 2004, he was our Director of Market Development. From 1996 to June 2003, he was with Gliatech Inc., where he most recently was Director of Business Development. Mr. Gridley holds a B.S. and an M.B.A. from the University of Denver.

Lisa Cheskin has been our Vice President, Clinical Affairs since October 2005. From May 2003 to October 2005, Ms. Cheskin was our Director of Clinical Affairs. From April 2002 to May 2003, she was Director of Ticket Operations for the Staten Island Yankees, a minor league baseball team. From January 1996 to April 2002, Ms. Cheskin was Director of Clinical Affairs at Datascope Corporation, a cardiovascular device company. Ms. Cheskin holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Public Health from Boston University.

Dean Erickson has been our Vice President, Manufacturing and General Manager of Wisconsin Operations since October 2003. From January 2003 to October 2003, he was our Director of Manufacturing and from 2000 to December 2002, he was our Technical Operations Manager. Mr. Erickson holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Brian Pilcher, Ph.D. has been our Vice President, Medical Affairs & Clinical Education since October 2007. From January 2006 to October 2007, Dr. Pilcher was our Director of Clinical Education and from December 2004 to December 2005 he was our Medical Science Liaison. From 2001 to November 2004, he was with Cutanix Corporation, a privately-held specialty pharmaceuticals company, where he most recently served as Director of Research. From January 2002 to December 2004, he was the Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Cell Biology, at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Pilcher holds a B.S. from Southern Nazarene University and a Ph.D. from The University of Oklahoma.
